# Settings overview

> What you can change in each Settings tab, and where to find it

Settings is where you manage your account, how Cleve looks, what it remembers, your voice recordings, skills, connected apps, plan and developer access.

## Open Settings

* Click your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
* Click **Upgrade** or your plan badge at the bottom of the sidebar to go straight to **Billing**.
* Press `⌘/` / `Ctrl+/` to open **Shortcuts**.
* In a doc, click the feather icon (**Themes and settings**), then **View all settings** to open **Personalisation**.

Settings opens as a window over your work. Pick a tab on the left; on a phone, choose the tab from the menu at the top. Close it with the **×** in the corner or `Esc`.

The tabs are, in order: **General**, **Personalisation**, **Memory**, **Voice**, **Skills**, **Integrations**, **Billing**, **Developer** and **Shortcuts**.

## General

Your account and profile.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Manage account** | Opens your account profile, where you update your profile details, email and security settings. Your name, email and picture are shown at the top of the tab |
| **Username** | Your unique public profile address. Usernames need at least 3 characters; spaces become hyphens. Click **Save**, then **View profile** to see your profile. You need a username to [publish docs to your profile](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/publishing.md) |
| **Cleve's look** | Click **Customize** to rename your AI agent and pick an accessory for it |
| **Appearance** | **Light**, **Dark** or **System** |
| **Legal** | Links to the **Privacy Policy** and **Terms of Service** |
| **Community** | Cleve's website and social channels |

To sign out, click your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **Sign out**.

## Personalisation

How Cleve looks and how your docs read. See [Themes and personalisation](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/personalisation.md) for details.

* **Theme**: preset themes (Original, Quiet, Paper, Bold, Calm, Focus), your **Custom** palette, **Edit colours**, and **Light** / **Dark** / **System**.
* **Type**: fonts, weight, size and spacing for headings and body text, with a live **Sample doc** and **Reset type**.
* **Accessibility font**: OpenDyslexic, Lexend or Atkinson Hyperlegible throughout Cleve.
* **High contrast**: stronger text, borders and focus outlines.
* **Full width docs**: let text use the whole window width.
* **Spellcheck**: underline misspellings and autocorrect as you type.
* **Formatting toolbar**: show or hide the formatting buttons above docs.

## Memory

What Cleve remembers about you across chats. See [Memory](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/memory.md).

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Memory** | Turn memory on or off |
| **Show in docs** | Show the memory doc in your docs list |
| **View & edit memory** | Click **Open** to see and edit what Cleve knows about you |
| **Clear memory** | Click **Clear** to reset memory to a blank slate. This can't be undone |

## Voice

Dictation, voice chat and meeting recordings. See [Voice](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/voice.md).

* **Language**: the transcription language. **Auto-detect** handles English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian and Dutch, even mixed in one recording. Pick a language for anything else.
* **Recordings**: your recent recordings in this workspace, from any device. For each one you can **Copy** the transcript, **Open doc**, download the **Audio**, **Retry** a transcript that didn't finish, or delete it.

Audio is kept for 7 days so you can download or re-transcribe it; transcripts stay. Deleting a recording removes its transcript and audio, but text already inserted into a doc or chat stays.

## Skills

Your skills and resources, under **Skills & Resources**. See [Skills](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/skills.md).

* **Create Skill**: write a reusable prompt you can apply in any conversation.
* **Install from URL**: import a skill from GitHub, a skills.sh page or a SKILL.md link.
* Edit or delete each skill from its card. Cards show the skill's type, preferred model and category, a globe if it's published, and where an imported skill came from.

## Integrations

Connect Cleve to other tools.

* **AI assistants**: set up Claude, ChatGPT, Grok Bot, Muse, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes to work with your Cleve docs. See [Use Cleve in other AI apps](https://docs.cleve.ai/integrations/mcp.md).
* **Your apps**: **Connect** or disconnect Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Notion, Slack, Linear, Confluence, LinkedIn and Instagram. See [Connected apps](https://docs.cleve.ai/integrations/apps.md).
* **Follow Us**: Cleve's website and social channels.

## Billing

Your plan and usage. See [How usage works](https://docs.cleve.ai/pricing/usage.md) and [Plans](https://docs.cleve.ai/pricing/overview.md).

* **Personal Plan**: your current plan, how much of your usage you've used as a percentage, and when it resets. On a paid plan, **Manage billing** opens the billing portal, where you manage your subscription and payment details.
* Below it is the current workspace's team billing: seats and members on a Team plan, or **No active team plan** if it doesn't have one.
* **Individual Plans** and **Team Plans**: compare plans and upgrade. Team plans create a shared workspace for your team.

## Developer

Tools for building on Cleve. See [REST API](https://docs.cleve.ai/developers/api.md).

* **API keys**: click **Manage** to create and revoke personal API keys.
* **Base URL** for the REST API.
* **Agent prompt**: copy a description of the API to give to an AI agent.
* An endpoint list, and an **API Tester** to send requests and copy code snippets in cURL, Node.js and Python.
* **Data Migration**: import your docs, folders and chat history from the previous version of Cleve.

## Shortcuts

A list of every keyboard shortcut, grouped into Navigation, Voice, Page, Formatting, Blocks and Editing. Shortcuts show the keys for your computer. See [Keyboard shortcuts](https://docs.cleve.ai/reference/keyboard-shortcuts.md).

## Workspace settings

Workspace members, invitations and workspace billing are managed from the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar, not in Settings. See [Workspaces and teams](https://docs.cleve.ai/features/workspaces.md).
