Resize, rearrange, dock, and undock panels to match your exact workflow. ## Workspace Modes Cleve offers two workspace modes: ### Full Workspace (Default) The complete experience with all panels: * **Writing Editor**: Main content creation area * **AI Chat**: Context-aware assistant * **Ideas Panel**: Quick capture sidebar * **Categories Sidebar**: Hierarchical organization * **Artifacts Panel**: Generated AI content * **Search Overlay**: Global content search ### Chat-Only Mode A minimal view focused only on AI chat: * Full-screen chat interface * No writing editor or idea panels * Perfect for quick AI conversations * Switch back to full workspace anytime **Toggle between modes** using the view switcher in the top navigation. ## Panel Management ### Resizing Panels Drag the **border between panels** to resize: * Horizontal panels: Drag left/right borders * Vertical panels: Drag top/bottom borders * Snap to grid: Hold `Shift` while dragging for precise sizing ### Moving Panels Drag the **panel header** to move it: 1. Click and hold the panel's title bar 2. Drag to desired location 3. Blue highlighting shows valid drop zones 4. Release to dock in new position ### Docking Positions Panels can dock: * **Left**: Categories sidebar, Ideas panel * **Right**: AI Chat, Artifacts * **Center**: Writing Editor (primary focus) * **Bottom**: Search, Timeline (when enabled) * **Floating**: Undock panels to separate windows ### Floating Panels Make any panel a separate window: 1. Right-click panel header 2. Select **"Float Panel"** 3. Panel opens in a separate window 4. Re-dock by dragging back to main window Great for multi-monitor setups! ### Closing Panels * Click the **× button** on panel header * Use keyboard shortcuts (see below) * Re-open panels from the **View menu** ## Keyboard Navigation ### Panel Switching | Action | Shortcut | | -------------------- | -------------- | | Focus Writing Editor | `Cmd/Ctrl + 1` | | Focus AI Chat | `Cmd/Ctrl + 2` | | Focus Ideas Panel | `Cmd/Ctrl + 3` | | Focus Search | `Cmd/Ctrl + /` | | Toggle Categories | `Cmd/Ctrl + B` | | Toggle Zen Mode | `Cmd/Ctrl + \` | ### Panel Actions | Action | Shortcut | | ------------------- | ---------------------- | | Close current panel | `Cmd/Ctrl + W` | | Maximize panel | `Cmd/Ctrl + M` | | Reset layout | `Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R` | ## Saved Layouts Your workspace layout is automatically saved. ### Automatic Persistence * **Layout configuration** saves to browser localStorage * **Panel sizes and positions** are restored on reload * **Visible/hidden panels** are remembered * **Floating window positions** persist (per monitor) ### Manual Layout Management **Save a layout preset:** 1. Arrange panels as desired 2. Click **View** → **Save Layout** 3. Name your layout (e.g., "Writing Focus", "Research Mode") 4. Layout is saved for quick switching **Load a saved layout:** 1. Click **View** → **Load Layout** 2. Select from your saved layouts 3.
