Connect the apps you use every day and Cleve can read from them and act in them for you, right from chat. Ask it to summarise this week’s emails, check your calendar, pull a Notion page into a doc, or post an update to Slack. Connected apps are included on every plan.

Supported apps

Cleve works with each app through the account you connect, so it can do what that account can do in the app: read content, and also create, send, update or post when you ask.

Connect an app

1

Open Integrations

Open Settings → Integrations and scroll to Your apps.
2

Click Connect

Click Connect next to the app. You’re taken to that app’s sign-in page.
3

Sign in and allow access

Sign in with the account you want Cleve to use and approve the access it asks for. You’re brought back to Cleve, and the button now reads Connected.
You can also connect from chat. If you ask Cleve to use an app you haven’t connected yet, it offers a link to connect it, then carries on once you’re signed in.
Connections belong to your account, not to a workspace. They work in every workspace you use, and teammates can’t use your connected accounts.

Disconnect an app

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. Click Connected next to the app.
  3. Click Disconnect to confirm.
Cleve stops using that account straight away. You can reconnect at any time. To revoke access completely, you can also remove Cleve’s access from the app’s own security or connected-apps settings.

Use your apps in chat

Once an app is connected, just ask. Cleve finds the right action in the app, runs it, and shows each step in the chat as it goes, for example Gmail: Send Email or Search Integrations. Some things to try:
You can combine apps with your docs in one request, such as “read @Launch plan and create calendar events for each milestone”.

Check before Cleve sends anything

Cleve doesn’t pause for a separate approval before it acts in a connected app. When you ask it to send, post, create or change something, it does it. For anything that other people will see, such as an email or a Slack message, ask Cleve to draft it first and show you, then tell it to send once you’re happy.
Chat mode only stops Cleve from changing your docs. It can still use your connected apps, so be clear about what you want it to do there.

Export a doc to Google Docs

From a doc’s ··· menu, choose Export to Google Docs to create a Google Doc from it. If Google Docs isn’t connected yet, Cleve asks you to connect it first, then export again. See Import and export.

Privacy

  • Cleve uses a connected app only when your request needs it.
  • Cleve acts only through the accounts you connect, with the access you granted when you connected them.
  • You can disconnect any app at any time from Settings → Integrations.
