Deleting a doc or folder moves it to the Bin. Anything in the Bin can be put back for 30 days. After that, it is deleted for good.

Delete a doc or folder

In a doc, click ··· (More actions) and choose Move to Bin. In the sidebar, open a doc’s or folder’s menu and choose Move to Bin. You can also select several docs and press Delete. A message appears with Undo. Click it to put back what you just deleted. Deleting a folder moves it and everything in it to the Bin. Putting the folder back brings it all back.

Put something back

Click Bin at the bottom of the sidebar. The Bin lists what was deleted, newest first, with who deleted it and when.
  • Click a doc’s title to read it.
  • Click Put back to return it to where it was. If its folder no longer exists, it goes to the top level.
If you open a link to a doc that is in the Bin, you can put it back from there.

Who can do what

A doc shared with you is not yours to delete. Choose Remove from my workspace instead.

Delete now

To remove something before the 30 days are up, click Delete now in the Bin. Workspace admins can also click Empty Bin. This cannot be undone. The AI, the MCP server and the API can move docs to the Bin and put them back, but never delete them for good.
